Where the data comes from

Country facts are drawn from open datasets (including the mledoze/countries project and Natural Earth); historical borders come from the aourednik/historical-basemaps project (CC BY-SA); and encyclopaedic context is fetched live from Wikipedia. The thematic map layers are a simplified overview intended for learning. If you spot something we can improve, please get in touch.
